Synopsis

Sloane and Jasper were inseparable as kids — until he was drafted into pro hockey and she got engaged to a man her father picked out for her. When Sloane leaves her fiancé at the altar, Jasper is the one who carries her out of the wreckage, and the two of them end up on an impromptu road trip through the Canadian mountains. Forced into close quarters with the person who’s always understood her best, Sloane can no longer avoid the conversation about what their “friendship” has actually meant all along.

Why We Loved It

We love the whole Chestnut Springs series, and while this isn’t our favorite in the series (duh, that’s Heartless) but who doesn’t love a shy hockey player and a ballerina on a Canadian mountain road trip?

And we loved that Jasper had always been in love with Sloane but kept his mouth shut as she got engaged to someone else, and the road trip is the perfect scenario to play out The Friendship GAMBLE process for both characters.
